a walk in the rain today at the very wet Jerrabomberra Wetlands yielded over 40 species, all very happy with the rain it seemed.  14 black-winged stilts, and dozens of welcome swallows flying.  A masked lapwing was vigorously defending its patch, against both the stilts and two whistling kites. the red-browed finches were very active, as were New Holland honeyeaters, yellow-faced honeyeaters, white-browed scrub wrens and the fairy wrens.
