This morning, at the small water quality pond on Woodcock Drive, Gordon (near the Preddy Way intersection) there was a pair of Purple Swamphen with 4 very young (no more than 4 days old) hatchlings. This is slightly earlier (by less than a week) than the earliest breeding date recorded in the last Annual Bird Report.
