A few years ago I solo climbed Mt Domain (near Tidbinbilla).  I stretched out for a lunchtime nap near the summit.  After a while I heard a crash in the tree above me.  Jumping up, I startled a wedge-tail that had just landed there.  He promptly flew off, slowly gliding down to Tidbinbilla.

In hindsight I wonder if he thought that I was carrion and that if I had stayed still would he have floated down and taken a bite?  That would have been quite something although I doubt that I could have held my nerve that long.

Could the experts advise if he really was getting ready for a homo sapiens sandwich?
