Thanks to those who sent me nest info last year in preparation for Bill Mannan’s visit.  Bill (researcher from University of Arizona, colleague of Jerry Olsen) is about to arrive to begin his project on goshawks and sparrowhawks.  I would be grateful for any information on individual nesting territories of these species around Canberra.  If you suspect a nest location from the behaviour we will check it out.  Nests are often on the root stem of a mistletoe.  This season’s nest might be the same as last year’s, or it might be located nearby.  Pairs will re-appear in territories this month or early September.  Don’t be deterred from reporting if you are not sure of the species.  Geoffrey
