Hi
I'm a PhD scholar through the Fenner School of Environment and Society
at ANU. My project involves transporting Brown Treecreeper family groups
from Wagga Wagga, NSW for release into Mulligans Flat and Goorooyarroo
Nature Reserve from mid-November this year. This will be followed by
daily radio-tracking and monitoring until mid-February.
How you can contribute:
• You can help by spending some time in Wagga Wagga from 12 November to
6 December (all of the time, or for a period within this time) catching
and banding bird groups to transport to Canberra (accommodation and
equipment supplied). Two people are required during this time, with at
least one of them being an R or A-class bander.
• Help monitor the newly released birds in Mulligans Flat and
Goorooyarroo Nature Reserves. Releases will be from mid-November with
birds being radio-tracked daily for approximately 9 weeks, followed by
daily observations. Help is accepted any time, but particularly required
through December and January. It would be great if you had experience
radio-tracking, although this is not necessary.
To register your interest or for more details on the project please
contact Victoria Bennett, PhD Scholar, Fenner School of Environment and
Society, The Australian National University.
