Although the day was a tad cool and foggy to begin with 11 members had a rather good time at Newline today.

We had a convivial chat with one of the managers of the property who interalia advise dus that the lessee passed away recentlly (but his widow will continue to run the property with Graeme and Noel's assistance.  He asked that we avoid the paddocks down towards the river as ewes were lambing there - a very reasonable request.  Clearly COG continues to be welcome on the property.

We managed to see nearly all the 'specials' of the site: BROWN TREECREEPER (2); SOUTHERN WHITEFACE (4); JACKY WINTER (1); PEACEFUL DOVE (1 heard); SPECKLED WARBLER (3).  No sight or sound of Crested Shrike-tit.  12 DOUBLE-BARRED FINCHES were gleaning in the concrete recycling area and an out of season BLACK-FACED CUCKOO-SHRIKE
