The wallabies with very dark fur were probably Swamp Wallabies, sometimes
called Black Wallabies. They could also have been could have been male
Wallaroos which are almost black in in this area.
There have not been any confirmed Rock-Wallabies sightings in the ACT since
the early 1950s.
