The internal fences in Callum Brae were removed last week and the
reserve has an entirely different look and feel. I think regulars
will be surprised by the difference.
Very few birds though -- other than a surprise Grey Currawong, a Boobook and a single small mixed feeding flock it was almost bird free. An incredible number of rabbits and the usual plethora of roos are responsible for a kind of attractive park-like appearance of 'mown' lawn amongst the trees.
