They are a great bird to spot.
Your sighting time is interesting.
I saw several juveniles last year in the NT but they were all seen in
the end of the dry during the build up around October.

It is interesting the different times birds breed up here.

Last weekend I saw Masked finches copulating and now is the time that
Gouldian are supposed to be breeding as well.

At the end of February Barbara and I were lucky enough to spot some
Hooded Parrots and most of them appeared to be juvenile.

Raptors seem to breed later in the year from July on.

There was a young Nankeen Night Heron in the casuarinas on the point to
the north of MacDermot Place yesterday at Lake Gininderra. There is also
a large nest which others may have reported.
