Spent 3 hours there this morning. I have never seen it
so poor for birds in many (about 20) years. 100 or so Crested Pigeons, few
insect-eaters except for weebills and 1 doz migrating D Wswallows, a single
bronzewing. Sad.
On the other hand, the street is good for Gang-gangs.
5-6 birds every day, possibly refugees. 3 separate broods of peafowl continuing
to visit daily. These are reaching the point where they might be worth
writing up as Australia’s only self-sustaining population, although Parks
are currently considering whether to adopt a reductionist policy towards them.
There have been some complaints.
