I was out riding with my kids and didn’t have my binos (so frustrating!!) but I’m pretty certain they were judging by the length of their necks.

Whenever I've seen large seemingly coordinated flocks like this on LBG or the Molonglo near Duntroon or Jerrabomberra Ck where it flows into the Lake, they have always been Little Black Cormorants.

We saw these too.  These were cormorants, not darters?  (I'm a newbie here.)  They eventually dispersed at Aspen Island.
