Hi Suzanne,
Here are some piccies I took last year at Tidbinbilla.
The emus are in the little dam below the Visitors' Centre where the outflow from the sewage reed beds collects. When my daughter and I were there the once-in-a-blue-moon maintenance 
was happening and as soon as the water was released the emus thundered in from nowhere and plunged straight into the dam. They stalked around in the deepest part looking like
Darters with just their necks above the water.

Yesterday took my g'dau to tidbinbilla and we were surprised to see a whole bunch of emus almost swimming, definitely doing the 3/4 submerged, fluffing the feathers, splashing etc act that we had witnessed that morning by magpies in the little pool home here; other people, inc. the desk asst at the Visitors' centre were amazed too and had not seen such before.
Also saw a platypus in the  major dam in the Sanctuary area; i think someone else had reported this.
