Hi all,
Just a final update for the season on this, but today I went up to my usual patch on Cooleman Ridge (first time in a long time due mostly to school homework), and found the Speckled Warblers again.
This time, however, there was a third bird, and I observed it once being fed by another bird. I attempted to track them, but I couldnt keep my eye on all three birds at once in the low undergrowth, so I think I lost the juvenile. Just a quick Q, what does a juvenile/immature/young Speckled Warbler look like? I didnt get good views as it was backlit against a white sky.
For those who dont keep unusual bits of information in their brain, this particular site consists mainly of 2+m high wattle regrowth, with some medium sized gums and one big gum down the back. Quite grassy in some areas, but more dead leaf/sticks in others.
Also 5 Brown Quail at the entrance (even managed some photos) and the first two (female/young) Scarlet Robins for the ridge for the year.
Cheers
Tobias
