Yes,
 
Humans have stuffed up the environment and are continuing to do so. The destruction & fragmentation of habitats, the spreading of pest animals and invasive weeds (on the best evidence we have at present) are impacting on the native species which are the great facination of people who contribute to these two chat lines.
 
We can wear hair shirts, confess our sins or do something about the threats, even in the face of incomplete knowledge.
 
Chat line members might like to read Birds Australia's "The State of Australia's Birds 2008", which was launched last Wednesday, but circulated earlier to BA members.
