I saw at least 15, possibly up to 20,of this species at 7:15 this morning along the S fence line between the former Narrabundah Hill pine plantation and the Chapman horse paddocks, about 200 m from the SW corner.  They may have been roosting in an adjacent bush as they were all gone 15 minutes later.

While this species has been much more frequently seen in the area since the January 2003 fires, this is the most I can recall seeing together in this time.

There were some young birds among them and it was good to see such numbers of this declining species.  Great also to see recent reports of them, including good numbers at Callum Brae.
