Yes, I was going to say that this Murdoch-owned broadsheet has a history of publishing anti-environmentalist opinion - notably the opinion of climate change denier Mark Steyn, as well as that of right-wing commentators such as Miranda Devine and Alan Wood, who both praised the Bjorn Lomborg book The Skeptical Environmentalist.    The right-wing views come all the way from the top, with the Editor-in-Chief being Chris Mitchell, and filter down.

Some subscribers to Canberrabirds will no doubt be aware that my post about the Bushfire poll was simply pasted from a post on Birding-aus. I probably should have deleted the "please vote" bit and simply left the link.

There have been many comments and differing views on Birding-aus about the value of the poll, the simplicity of the question and the issues, and the objectives of the Australian and its editors, but I still feel that it was worth bringing the existence of the poll to COG's attention.
