Disregarding the Razza Matazz of those who see Majura as Canberras Serengeti,
Forgetting The Swift Parrots,the picture has been one of a shocking decline in
Numbers and varieties of Birds and Butterflies....So many very common birds are just no longer
seen....But No....could the Light be in the Upland? ....I have  a Boobock
establishing Territory around Mackenzie St Hackett...Not much I know,but
my first for many years....A far cry from those heady days 10 years ago when
A pair nested in a suburban garden close by,had five young and brought them to a large
deciduous tree in my garden....The following winter after this occurrence a walk
around Majuras Hatband listening for  Owls yielded a count of nine birds...
