A young koel was just drinking at one of our birdbaths. It was in juvenile plumage, with a fully grown tail as far as I could tell. It was very wary and flew off almost as soon as it saw me. This could well be the same individual reported by Stephanie Haygarth on 21 Jan as we are only a couple of hundred metres from there.

cheers

Steve
