This morning (Monday 12 Jan)
there were three Superb Parrots in a eucalypt near the large dam on the southern
edge of Mulligan's Flat. As we approached the dam, a large (but looked
smaller than Little Eagle) unidentified raptor flew off rapidly; a Pallid Cuckoo
first flew up to a tree, and then down to a short post on the dam, before
heading off for another tree. On the walk back to the new carpark, we saw
Leaden Flycatchers, Grey Fantails, and heard much unidentified bird
song....
I would be grateful for advice/suggestions about the id of a
small Thornbill-size bird seen as part of a small flock in eucalypts beside the
track- it doesnt seem to fit the images of either Brown or Striated....
