Was just watching a flock of five Rock Dove circle over near Mt Taylor when into view raced a Peregrine Falcon and the flock scattered.  The falcon had the superior speed but this gave the pigeons the edge in maneuverability, performing skillful dipping and rolling to avoid being hit, which proved successful.  The interaction was repeated about ten minutes later - same outcome.
