COGites may recall the splendid talk that David Geering gave us about the Regent Honeyeater recovery effort and the captive breeding and release program. In that, he talked about their song behaviour, amongst many other things. I have been contacted by someone else who is researching regional variation in the songs. (And I am of course still interested in the aspect of their mimicry.) Anyway do any of you have film or sound recording of these birds (preferably of known location and date) that could contribute to such an investigation. I will be assembling what I have and would be good to add to that. The vocal behaviour of this species really is quite intriguing.
