There have been one or more pairs of Superb Parrots overflying the Pinnacle reserve on and off for the last month or so, presumably heading for Hawker oval, where they are known to feed, but yesterday afternoon I saw 11 birds in all. Two pairs at opposite ends of the reserve, and a group of 7 feeding on acacia pods (I think). The group consisted of one adult male, either 2 or 3 adult females, and several immature birds, one of which was starting to show signs of male plumage. A group (presumably the same one) later flew over us heading north.
