Apart from the cds mentioned by Martin and
Bruce, there are also two excellent sound recordists (amongst others no doubt)
who produce their own discs, namely Fred van Gessel and David Stewart. Fred is
a friend of mine and has produced a series of 3 cds on the birds of far ne Queensland. He probably
has others that I am not aware of. I do know David Stewart but not well, but in
the cover of the one cd of his I have, Tropical North-east, is a list of other
discs that are available from him. This cd is quite old and I am sure there are
a lot more titles. I can give people Fred’s email address but don’t
have David’s.
As with all this type of material you need
a wide selection to cover as many regional dialects as possible – none of
them cover everything!!!!

Hi all,
I was just wondering if there is a good CD or CD set out there of Australian
bird songs and calls. I've seen the one for the ACT, which is great, but
I'd like something that covers at least southeastern Australia, if not the continent. I
would really appreciate any suggestions!
