Don't know if others have seen these birds here
recently but y'day (27/11) evening c. 7.55 there was 1 perching in the willow
opposite the main hide (`Bittern' i think?), the hide that's straight down the
path from the gate in carpark.
It was the perfect time, dusk, for
them to come out and hunt: as i watched, a 2nd bird flew out from
`somewhere' and landed right in front of hide; there for quite a while beforre
stalking off to hunt and feed nearby; while this going on , the 1 in the willow
flew down to the `lagoon' up to the left (as you look out).
I've never had such lear close views, particularly
the creamy streamer flowing from the nape.
