A couple of tips for people entering records on the COGAtlas
on line system (http://www.cogatlas.org.au/
):
Use Mozilla Firefox if you can. It works best. The system
won’t work at all with Opera.
Logging on – if you mistype the Log on or the
password at your first attempt, it is sometimes difficult for the browser to
send the correct info from later attempts (Internet Explorer particularly). So
the effect is that even if you are typing in the right info, you get an error
message. Fix this by exiting from the browser and starting from scratch.
When you have finished entering one set of data, it is wise
to take the option to Return to the Observation List (NOT Enter another
observation). If you have noted the Temporary sheet number (like T232 for
example) you can check to see that the data you have entered is actually
there. Once you are satisfied the data is in the system, then take the option
to enter a new set of data. This adds a few seconds in adding each observation
set, but it is reassuring to know the data is going in.
If you have any problems email or ring me.
It would be helpful if all data could be entered asap, as
Barbara Allen is keen to process and analyse the collected data.
All the best.
