According to HANZAB 13% of the nests of Striated Pardalotes are in "other structures".  We have an example of that with a nest occurring in the rectangular section beam of one of our sheds.  The hole faces a little South of East, meaning that the 'face' of the beam catches a good deal of heat which may be a problem later.

My initial thought, from hearing a ruckus, similar to that of begging chicks, coig from the hole was that this was an NY record.  However on returning to photograph whatever I could, I found an adult about to try to enter the hole with a long piece of grass so perhaps the ruckus was just an _expression_ of joy at succeeding in its task?  The observation has been revised to IH at this stage.
