Several people looking for the drongo early this morning, no luck. There were 2 Baillon's Crakes near Bittern Hide, and 2 Buff-banded Rails in long grass next to the reed-filled creekline leading into Crake Alley -----Original Message----- From: Elizabeth Compston Sent: Saturday, 18 October 2008 5:27 PM To: birds birds Subject: Spangled drongo at Causeway At 4.45pm today, a spangled drongo was hawking for insects near the end of the path W of main bridge at Kellys Swamp and about 50 m E of small bridge to most westerly bird hide. Initially thought there were two or more amid melee of wattlebirds but only one confirmed. Bill Compston and Daniel Mantle. **************************************************************************** *************************** |
