On 16 Oct a pair of rainbow Bee-eaters inspected the erosion gullies in the Snow Gums area (part of the Aranda Bushland) for about half an hour and then moved on. They did the same last year about this time. Presumably the soil is too clayey for them and/or the banks not high enough for protection from predators.
