And a Charnwood friend phoned today to say the koels are back in his area. Incidentally, he was the guy who had lots of Little Red Flying -foxes visiting a flowering Iron bark ( I think it was) opposite his front door last year. Look, I've said this before but it's darned well worth repeating in case someone missed it previously, those who despair of koels, take heart, 'tis only a matter of time before science produces a cure for the Common Koel. And I know some more koel anecdotes but dinner's on and I gotta go. Sorry. John Layton |
