Mixed groups of White-browed and Masked Woodswallows passed over my Page garden between 1515 and 1715 today – they may have started earlier. Not consistently, but in waves. Most in the sky at one time c. 30 in a ratio of c. 5:1. Sometimes quite low; swirling flocks but the earlier parties batting north, as Nicki noted, into the breeze, though later they headed more west. Calling all the while. A most enjoyable sight and such a good excuse to sit out in the garden gazing at the heavens. b
