Hi all

There was a Latham's Snipe at West  Belconnen Pond this morning.

              ---------------------------------------------------

And flying over head was a grey falcon but presumably not a Grey Falcon.
The bird was flying steadily to the NE pretty much towards the early morning sun.
No undulation in level and with regular wing beats.
When I first observed it  I was between it and the sun and it passed overhead so i saw only the underside.
It appeared more or less all light grey with some darker grey streaks running length wise.
Every couple of seconds, as it flew it made a quiet single syllable noise approximated by kwok;
not quite but almost the noise attached to farm ducks in children's books.
My immediate reaction was " Grey Falcon" but I have never seen one.

Any suggestions other than Brown Falcon, they seem to come in many colours ?
