A lone Pied Cormorant was settling down to roost on the island off the western shore of Lake Ginninderra this afternoon, accompanied by a dozen or so Greats and a couple of Little Blacks. Only the normally prolific Little Pieds were missing. Also present were a couple of Darters and a pair each of Australian White and Straw-necked Ibis. And a pair of Nankeen Night Herons in their usual stand of Casuarinas on the shore north of the island.
