Hello all,
I was just out going for a walk around the Isabella Ponds and I spotted what appears to be a dead Muscovy or Muscovy hybrid, duck.
The trouble is, it appears to have been intentionally killed. Usually this wouldn't worry me if somebody did this to an introduced species (at least not too much) but we have some infertile geese that the locals look after (named Molly and Gary) and the muscovy duck has just been disposed of on the side of the bike path rather carelessly. This doesn't bode well for the geese and the people who look after them if someone has taken it upon themselves to rid the ponds of all the introduced species.
If anyone is for whatever reason (I found it interesting so I'm certainly not going to judge!) wants to see the dead duck I can meet people and direct them to it.
In the meantime, I've decided to call it Sonny Bill.
Alberta Hayes, Monash.
