On Friday I saw several Choughs apparently trying out last year's nest by hopping into the nest and turning around in it. There doesn't seem to be a good recording option for this breeding category in the COG database for this - inspecting half-hollow? Later in the afternoon and in the same area, a party of about 9 White-winged Choughs had a violent interaction with about half of a party of about 15 White-winged Choughs. The 15 Choughs then left and the 9 White-winged Choughs formed a tight circle, facing inwards, and started dust bathing by picking up beak fulls of dust and dropping it on their bodies. This morning one of the choughs was adding mud to the nest, so it has progressed to nest building.
