NEED A BREAK FROM YOUR WORK?
NEED EXTRA MONEY??
Short-term field assistants needed for research on the influences of
vegetation structure in a mosaic landscape on biodiversity. We need two
additional people to join us on a 2-week field trip (8-20 September) to
the exotic Central West of NSW.
You need to have reasonable bird identification skills
including some basic knowledge of bird calls. We will be conducting
point counts in pairs, so some skill deficiencies can be compensated for
by paired partners.
Duties will include conducting point counts to assess avian diversity
and abundance, assisting with deployment of a remote sensor network to
record bioacoustic and biophysical data, and generally pitching in as
needed. We will be based out of Tottenham, NSW for the 2-week trip,
where you will be part of a field crew of 8 people (primarily consisting
of CSIRO staff).
All housing, food and transportation will be
provided and your salary will be negotiable depending on skills and
experience. If interested please contact Erik Doerr (0427 765 540;
or Veronica Doerr (0427 258 592;
at CSIRO Sustainable Ecosystems.
