Hello subscribers

An opportunity has arisen to have Donald Brightsmith, as he will be in town, to give a short talk on "Macaws of the Peruvian Amazon".  COG member Debbie Saunders has recently done volunteer work for Don's project and highly recommends this presentation.

As a consequence my Bird of the Month talk will be restricted to about 5 minutes on the Jacky Winter, outlining the key identification features only, and leaving the repeat of the red-breasted robins presentation to those participating in the robin twitchathon on 20 July (there are still a few seats left on the bus).

The main presentation will remain by David Geering, the Regent Honeyeater Recovery Co-ordinator on ?A Bird in the Hand: Returning the Regent Honeyeater to the Bush?.  This will cover the recent release of captive bred birds and well as update of other aspects since he last spoke to COG.

So with Wimbledon and the State of Origin over, there are no reasons not to come - we guarantee that you will be home in time to see the interesting bit of the Tour de France!
