Hi all
Went to Campbell park this arvo for an hour of peace (between work and picking
up kids) and saw a group of about 10 Honeyeaters, two of which were definitly
Yellow-tufted Honeyeaters. The others I'm not sure. I had seen White-naped,
Yellow-faced and a White-eared HE just 10 min earlier.
A few grey fantails (4+) and about 20-25 spotted pardalotes were about.
Having a good look at them today confirmed my short glimpse of a single
Yellow-tufted HE on Percival Hill Reserve on 7 June. I wasn't sure then, as I
had never seen them before.
Last week at Campbell Park I watched about 16 double-barred finches (my first),
10 Red-Browed Firetails, a warbling silvereye, YFHE, White-eared HE, lots of
RW, and others.
When I came home today, 2 RW sped across the road at eyelevel. One with it's
beak clamped onto the tail of the other - tandem Wattlebirds.
Cheers, Susanne
