Had a go at following up Julian’s Hooded Robins and Brown Treecreeper at Googong. (My compliments on the location maps BTW). Managed to see Robins and Treecreepers but not of same ilk. One sulphurous Yellow Robin in much the same location as the BT and several vocal White-throated Treecreepers throughout the gum/peppermint woodland.  Looking around at the corner of the photo, the ground was littered with logs and relatively open which seems to equate with the spots I see BTs.  However, it was not until I turned into the road to Tin Hut that I saw Robins plural, Flame Robins (10-15 with as many females as males) in the paddock to the East of the track (accompanied by a large number of Yellow-rumped Thornbills).

Down at Tin Hut Dam there was a pleasant mix of ducks (Black {10}, Shoveler{6}, Wood Duck{4}, Hardhead{2}, Grey Teal {10}& one eclipse male Chestnut Teal), a grebe or three (2 Hoary, 1 Australasian) and a lone White-faced heron.

Cheers

Shaun
