Popped in to Telopea Park at lunch time today to look for
corellas, found 2 Long-billed amongst 50+ Little. They, and the SC Cockatoos,
seemed to be very unsettled, constantly flying around and making a huge racket.
Eventually I figured out why; way, way overhead an adult WB Sea Eagle circling with
a light morph Little Eagle nearby, presumably on the same thermal. A bonus!
Stopped at Aspen island on the way home, no Pied Cormorants
but Darters and the other 3 cormorants were present, including 50+ Little Blacks
fishing in the lake. Nice views of a Water Rat – a quite dark individual
that lacked a white tail tip. I don’t think I have seen one without the
white on the tail before. In any case, it was very tame.
Cheers
