Hi all,

This may not meet the “no advertising” standards of the chat-line co-ordinator so I will preface it by saying that at present there is a small group of Fuscous Honeyeaters hanging around my garden. I haven’t had them here for quite a few years.

The real reason for the message is that I am doing a birding trip to the Cape Town - Kalahari - Knysna area in South Africa in September and was wondering if anyone would be interested in joining me. I am organising the trip through Brian Vanderwalt who I went out with last year when my wife and I were in Cape Town and I found him to be an excellent birding guide. The trip starts on September 13 and finishes on October 1 but there could be some bird banding near Cape Town before we leave on the trip. Brian’s vehicle can hold up to six birders and their gear. My reason for the notice is that the more people on the trip the cheaper it is for me!!! I know Mark and Jean Caulton have organised trip similar to this prior to a trip to Kruger but because of other factors involved I couldn’t make their trip. If you are seriously interested and want details of costs etc please get back to me.

Thanks,

Mark
