Cave Creek/Blue Waterholes (COG grid cell A21): Black Sallees in full flower, attended by Yellow-faced Honeyeater, White-eared Honeyeater, a dozen Welcome Swallow overhead and Collared Sparrowhawk lurking in the branches.  Water rat in Cave Creek through Clarke Gorge.

Cooleman Plain (A22) & Currango Plain (B23) grasslands and woodland of Alpine Snow Gums & Black Sallees bordering plain: large numbers of Flame Robin, Richard's Pipit, Australian Magpie, Little Raven, as well as evidence of honeyeater migration with 60 Yellow-faced Honeyeater and 15 White-naped Honeyeater flying north across Seventeen Flat Creek in 15 minutes of observation.  Also present were Grey Shrike-thrush, Scarlet Robin, Grey Butcherbird, Pied Currawong, Buff-rumped Thornbill, Crimson Rosella, Red Wattlebird, Willie Wagtail, Rufous Whistler, White-throated Treecreeper, Laughing Kookaburra.  Wild horses grazing (7 adult, 1 calf) and the morning chorus was interrupted by the howling of wild dogs from two different directions.

Pocket Saddle (B22): beautiful patch of dry forest, with White-winged Chough, Common Bronzewing and two (male & female) Spotted Quail-thrush.

Murrays Gap (D23): Gang-gang Cockatoo, White-browed Scrubwren.

Bimberi Peak (D22): 3 Yellow-faced Honeyeater flying over the summit (1914m), Australian Magpie, Silvereye, Grey Currawong.

Full observation records of all birds recorded to be submitted for the database.
