The current edion of Australian Geogragphic magazine
has a whole section
covering birding and twitching including an
interesting glossary of birding
terms.
It also has a Top 10 List of poo pits in Australia and
funnily enough our
very own Fyshwick sewage ponds comes in at No. 10.
Others include Broome, Derby,
Alice Springs, Leeton, Werribee etc.
