I saw a fruit bat last night in Scullin - I think someone mentioned some around Belconnen a week or so ago. But the Mynas haven't left any figs for it. -----Original Message----- From: Elizabeth Compston Sent: Wednesday, 26 March 2008 12:11 PM To: birds birds Subject: fig tree We have had a very good crop of figs this year. The birds have not been very interested. Usually there are silver eyes and currawongs. We caught 28 indian mynas lin late January/early February. The presence of our cat, sitting, waiting, in the tree may discourage small birds. There has been no sign of bats. An oriole was outside our window on Monday morning and we have seen bower birds birds occasionally.
