Our house is about 200m higher than most of Canberra and the overnight
temperature is quite cool (high single digits).  Up in the high parts
of the mountains it could be rather chilly.  It has also been a bit
foggy in the mornings around here - I have no idea if that could be
persuading/fooling the birds that daylength is shortening more
rapidly.  A final factor could be the lack of insect life in recent
weeks.

As to where the birs are going I also have no idea, but as I indicated
in a previous message there were lots of honeyeaters finding food of
some sort - whether insect or nectar wasn't clear - at Monga NP on
Wednesday.
