Following the report of a sighting to the N of
Canberra a week or so back, a new COG member was on a
Mt Ainslie run yesterday to summit and back when he heard a faint crunching
off in the distance. On investigation he found a pair of glossy
black-cockatoos feeding in a drooping she-oak.
So perhaps after an absence of a couple of years
the species is back in the Mt Ainslie/Majura area, well worth keeping an eye out
for them.
