Persistence paid off and finally saw male little bittern this morning at 7.10am on my 4th visit. It was moving around near top of fairly sparse reeds at the lake end of the reedbed which reaches out into the inlet. Watched for about 5 mins before it flew low into the trees at the edge near the blackberries next to bike path. There was a group of about 35 little black cormorants fishing in close formation near the reeds Sandra Henderson
