Some years ago I umpired a cricket match at Belmont near Lake Macquarie and saw 13 birds sp on the field during 2 days cricket.  This did not include sp flying over.  I wonder can I remember the 13?

Willy Wagtail
Peewee
Magpie
Plover (kak,kak,kak)
Blue Crane (pastures of the)
Starling
Sea Gull
Yellow legs
White ibis
Pigeon (racing and/or feral)
Galah
that's 11, I can't remember the other 2 but probably came from jackass, sparrow, currawong or blue wren.

However on the local scene while umpiring at ANU sth oval a week ago I saw a suspected Peregrine over the oval but it took an insect in flight (at the 2nd attempt) so it was probably an Aust Hobby.  It was perching at the nth end of the oval near Sullivans Ck and made its flights from the one perch which is typical of Hobbies from my limited experience.  The prey may have been a cicada as there were lots making a noise on the east side of the oval.
