A couple of issues concerning the discussion on Forde and Mulligans Flat

1) It is now compulsory to have rainwater tanks in these new suburbs but the gardens are so small that I have no idea what they are going to water.  Obviously, having a water tank gives one green credits which looks good but does nothing useful.

2) It must be remembered that these suburbs require a fire plan.  The plan states that the fire authority can apply a fire reduction protocol for a distance of 200m around the suburb.  Given there is no buffer this means that the protocol (prescribed burns, removal of woody debris etc) can now occur up to 200m within the Reserve.  It has always been argued that the 200m buffer should come out of the suburb, not the surrounding landscape but the Authorities will not have a bar of this.
