Wednesday arternoon
Giralang pond: 4 white winged trillers, including 3 males. 1 Little
grassbird. Little pied cormorant. 5 swallows, with at least 1 nest with
young under the bridge. 9 reed warblers. 2 red brows, rufous whistlers,
3 swamp hens. 20 Black duck including 5 dy. 18 grey teal. 3 straw neck
and 1 white ibis. Magpie larks with dy.
Palmerville Heritage Park: 3 white winged trillers, including 2 males. 1
Latham's snipe, 1 brown quail. 1 cisticola. 7 reed warblers. Galahs with
2 dy. 6 redbrows including 4 dy. Magpie larks 'on' nest.
McKellar Pond: Little pied cormorant, dusky moorhen with 2 dy. 3 reed
warblers. 2 australasian grebes. Other usual ducks.
I was surprised to find the white winged trillers and latham's snipe,
and I always thought Palmerville looked like good cisticola and brown
quail habitat.
