Roger,

It is juvenile House Sparrow. The large yellow gape gives the age away as does the overall general colouration.

Hi All,

Any suggestions as to what this might be ?

There were two of them sitting in the just risen sun.
Gave the impresssion of being dependent young, but no adult was in attendance and they eventually flew off.

House Sparrow size or smaller.
